Thanks to the generosity of my friend, Helen, we now have access to 43 back issues of Outstanding Investor Digest!
I spent a lot of time trying to find out more about Henry Emerson, the original investment newsletter publisher, before putting these in the public domain. I know lots of issues are already out there, but I wanted to be respectful of his work.
Someone on Corner of Berkshire and Fairfax said he had died, so I went looking for a surviving publisher but found none. After some consideration, I concluded that I should go ahead and put them out there.
OID was the go-to place for value investing news and transcribed speeches long before YouTube — or even the mainstream internet for that matter. Here’s what the Wall Street Journal wrote about him in 2003:

I am trying to track down Henry… he was a close family friend of my older brother when they were in high school and I was a little girl. And for years beyond. We adored him.
I am very sad to hear that he may have passed… because my brother died as well.
Such grief.
So sad that Henry passed away.
